Salford InterFaith Network essay competition Winner

Winners for the Salford InterFaith Network essay competition entitled ‘What faith means to me’ were
announced this week and The Albion Academy is proud to announce that the overall winner was Y11 student, Ashwaq Salim.

Ashwaq Salim, 15, collected her winner’s prize of £50 at a ceremony on Monday 11th January attended by the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, Councillor Peter Dobbs and associated dignitaries including Rev. Daniel Burton from Salford InterFaith Network and representatives from the winning schools.

Mrs Rafferty-Clark and Mrs Langley accompanied Ashwaq who also invited her friend, Alyssa Massey, along for support. Ashwaq’s winning essay will be displayed in school and distributed to the wider Salford network through the Mayor’s office. Ashwaq and Alyssa celebrated with cake!
